Punctum is one of the many projects of the inimitable David McLean, the man also behind the Tombed Visions label and a Fatouttilyoupassout co-conspirator . McLean is certainly one of the most active heads on the Manchester live scene, and whatever guise he goes under or whatever band he's lending his skills to it never fails to be a compelling performance from this well turned out brooder.
Unexplained Bleeding is ice cold and choppier than the North Sea. It leaves a metallic taste in the mouth like you've been licking batteries all night whilst chain smoking Lamberts. Needless to say its bad as fuck, listen up....

If you're looking for a friendly way into the Opal Tapes catalogue I'm afraid there isn't one. However, this is a great (and very decently priced) introduction to the distinct sound this label has made its own with some fantastic slices of techno. AJ.
