Nighthammer aka Tony Mountford is one half of the Noisestar label, which formed in 2003 with Rhys Llewellyn (aka DRMCNT / ACIDLINER) and released the infamous Shit & Shine 'Cunts with Roses' 12" that had a devastating effect on the Gnod collectives synapses.
Nighthammer is heavily involved in the London music scene and this release is by his own admission "essentially psycho geographical in nature... It's a product of where I've been living for the past 8 years or so, the people I hang out with, the clubs and gigs, everything around me. The 3 tracks that make up this ep are also something of a time travel experience..."
These tracks are for the dancefloor, brimming with popping dub techno synth lines - the melodies and structure of the tracks reflect Nighthammers eclectic style and experiences. Neu X is the perfect accompaniment to late night excursions into any modern city.

Karen Gwyer unfolds through three long and interesting pieces a focused array of old-school synthesizers and psychedelic influences. While the last track Hippie Fracca is much closer to ambient and could remind the soundtrack of a 70's movie taking place in space, the first two patiently build frenetic techno patterns holding an incredible emotional charge, climaxing in You Big when it combines the pump organ drones and the errating vocals.
